    Fine Arts Offerings:

    Jazz Dance (K/MIII - 2nd grade) $25

    This class offers an engaging introduction to the fundamentals of jazz dance, focusing on basic movements, techniques, and the energetic style that defines the genre. Students will explore rhythm, coordination, and self-expression as they learn exciting new steps and sequences. The class incorporates fun, age-appropriate choreography set to a diverse selection of kid-friendly, popular music, creating an upbeat and motivating environment. Through structured activities and creative exercises, students will build confidence, improve their physical fitness, and develop an appreciation for the artistry and joy of jazz dance.

    Class day and time: Mondays 3:30 - 4:10

    Shoe Design (4th - 8th grades) $25

    Do you love shoe design? If you enjoy creativity on your feet, join local shoe designer, Marcus Floyd, who will teach you how to prep and design your own set of unique sneakers. Bring your creativity, painting skills, and a pair of sneakers (old or new), and create some one-of-a-kind Scooby Doo’s! Marcus has designed for celebrities and people all over the world through his business, Infinite Kustomz. When asked how he got started, he said, “I’ve always been into art and sneakers…just seemed like a natural progression to combine the two.” Students will need to bring in a pair of white sneakers by January 24 to be prepped for the class.

    Lexington Theatre Company, Voice and Music (K/MIII - 1st Grade) $25

    Voice and Music Class provided by The Lexington Theatre Company's Outreach Programming will have students singing and focusing on both vocal techniques and basic music theory. Led by Chris Arroyo, one of The Lex’s Teaching Artists with decades of experience, students will experience Pure Imagination with James and his giant peach, Charlie and his Charlie Factory, plus Matilda and her whiny Wormwoods. Students will have a blast and conclude with a final showing of their work for family and friends at the end of this 12-week session!

    Lexington Theatre Company, Musical Theatre (2nd grade - 5th grade) $25

    The Lexington Theatre Company's Outreach Programming provides theatrical instruction for students of all ages across Kentucky. Step into a world of Pure Imagination with the stories of Roald Dahl (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, James and the Giant Peach and the magical Matilda). This Musical Theatre Class will focus on the combined genres of music, storytelling, and movement. Teaching Artists (who are also part of The Lex’s professional company) will take students on a musical journey filled with creativity, collaboration, and fun. There will also be a final showing of their work at the end of this 12-week session!

    Pottery Class (3rd Grade - 5th Grade) $25

    Join us after school for a hands-on pottery class where creativity takes center stage! Students will learn how to use real pottery wheels to shape clay into fun and unique creations. Guided by our talented middle school art teacher, Ms. Anna Fedorchuk, participants will explore new techniques, experiment with designs, and bring home their own handmade masterpieces. It’s the perfect blend of art, imagination, and messy fun!

    Pottery Class (K/MIII - 2nd Grade) $25

    Join us after school for a fun and creative pottery class designed just for younger artists! Students will explore hand-building techniques using clay to shape simple, imaginative projects they can proudly take home. Guided by our wonderful middle school art teacher, Ms. Anna Fedorchuk, children will learn basic skills, play with texture and form, and enjoy a relaxed, hands-on introduction to pottery. It’s a perfect mix of creativity, discovery, and clay-filled fun!

    Yoga Class - (K/MIII - 2nd Grade) $25

    Come unwind, move, and play in our fun after-school yoga class! Perfect for Kindergarten through 2nd grade, students will learn simple breathing, playful movement, balance, and mindfulness—all through games and creative activities. We’ll explore fun, kid-friendly yoga poses and practice body awareness in a calm, encouraging environment. Each class blends movement, imagination, and relaxation, giving students a chance to reset after the school day while connecting with friends.

                • REFUND POLICY: We do understand that changes in schedules occur, so we try our best to work with families regarding changes made after registration. Please let Jonathan Herrington, Director of Auxiliary Programs, know as soon as possible if your child will be unable to attend a Fine Arts. To receive a 90% refund, the Co-Curricular Director must be notified greater than 30 days of the start of the class. Notifications within 15-30 days of the class will receive a 50% refund. No refund for cancellations within 2 weeks from the start of class or after class has begun. If the class is cancelled due to the class minimum not being reached, families will receive a full refund.
